Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Island Clinical Supervision, how the platform works, and what to expect before and after enrollment.
What is Island Clinical Supervision?
Island Clinical Supervision is a structured platform designed to support mental health professionals pursuing licensure through organized supervision, clear systems, and a guided member experience.
The platform combines membership access, scheduling, resources, and support so supervisees and supervisors can work inside one connected ecosystem.
Who is this for?
Island Clinical Supervision is built for mental health professionals seeking supervision support as part of their path toward licensure.
Availability may vary by track, supervisor qualifications, and current openings.
Are sessions compliant with Hawai‘i DCCA requirements?
Yes. Supervision is structured to align with Hawai‘i DCCA board requirements for LMHC, LMFT, and LCSW licensure.
Group size limits and individualized thresholds are built into each supervision track. That said, supervisees remain responsible for confirming their own specific licensure requirements and ensuring their pathway aligns with current board standards.
Are sessions virtual?
Yes. Supervision sessions are conducted virtually unless otherwise specified.
Scheduling is handled through Jane, which opens in a separate tab when it is time to book.
What types of supervision are offered?
Depending on your track and availability, offerings may include individual supervision and group supervision.
Not every option may be available to every person at every moment, since availability depends on supervisor qualifications, scheduling, and current openings.
Is documentation provided for licensure application?
Yes. Supervisees receive documentation and hour verification support in accordance with board requirements and the structure of their supervision relationship.
What happens after I enroll?
After enrollment, you will receive onboarding guidance, access instructions, and the next steps needed to begin using the platform.
Depending on your track and supervisor setup, this may include a supervision agreement, scheduling instructions, and access to your protected member dashboard.
Is there a supervision agreement?
Yes. Supervisees sign a formal supervision agreement outlining expectations, confidentiality, scheduling, billing, and compliance responsibilities.
Are supervisors approved and in good standing?
Yes. Supervision is provided by licensed clinicians in good standing with the State of Hawai‘i. Supervisors meet board requirements to provide supervision for qualified candidates.
Supervisees are encouraged to confirm supervisor eligibility as part of their own licensure process.
How does the platform work?
Island Clinical Supervision is your home base for access, resources, support, and guidance. Jane is used for scheduling appointments.
You begin your experience through Island Clinical Supervision, but actual appointment booking takes place in Jane.
Do I book sessions on this website?
You begin from this website, but the actual scheduling flow opens in Jane. That is a normal part of the experience.
Members are guided to the correct booking area from their dashboard so the process stays organized and easy to follow.
Do I need both Island Clinical Supervision and Jane?
Yes. Island Clinical Supervision is the platform where you access your dashboard, resources, support, and protected member experience. Jane is the scheduling system used for appointments.
They work together, but they do not do the same job.
Do I need a Jane account?
You may be prompted to sign in or create a Jane login in order to use the scheduler. Jane is the system used for appointment related access and communication.
How do memberships and scheduling work together?
Membership and billing are managed through Island Clinical Supervision. Scheduling is handled separately through Jane.
Your membership gives you access to the platform experience. Jane is then used to schedule appointments within that experience.
Can I choose my supervisor?
Supervisor access depends on your track, current openings, and supervisor qualifications. In some cases, you may be guided toward the correct supervisor as part of onboarding.
What if the supervisor I want is full?
Openings depend on current capacity and supervisor availability. If a supervisor is full, you may need to join a waitlist, choose another qualified supervisor, or wait for availability to open.
Are group supervision sessions always available?
Not necessarily. Group supervision depends on scheduling, supervisor availability, and current enrollment. Group offerings may change over time.
How are hours tracked?
Completed supervision sessions are logged by supervisors. Members are not currently expected to self enter completed supervision data through the platform.
If something looks incorrect, members should contact support rather than assume it will automatically correct itself.
Can I switch tracks or tiers later?
Possibly. Tier and track changes may depend on availability, fit, and timing within your current billing cycle. Changes are not guaranteed to happen immediately.
If you need a change, contact support before making assumptions about what will happen next.
What if I do not see a time that works?
If you do not see a time that fits your needs, use support rather than booking the wrong session type or guessing about availability.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Yes, within the scheduling rules in effect at the time of booking. Cancellation and rescheduling expectations are governed by platform and scheduler settings.
What if I have technical trouble?
If you cannot access your dashboard, are confused about booking, or run into a platform issue, start with support instead of trying to troubleshoot everything on your own.
Clear details and screenshots are always helpful.
Does this replace my responsibility to understand board rules?
No. Island Clinical Supervision is structured to support compliance, but each supervisee remains responsible for understanding their own licensure path, deadlines, and board requirements.
Where do I go if I need help?
If you are already a member or supervisor, use the support page inside your dashboard. If you are not yet enrolled and have general questions, use the public contact page.
